We are looking for manuscripts of 25,000 to 125,000 words in length for publication. Accepted authors will generally be offered a contract for both e-book and print formats. We will work with you to determine the best format for your work. A small advance will be paid at the end of the editing process.

In fiction, we are looking for science fiction, fantasy, and mystery/thriller titles. For non-fiction, we are looking for manuscripts dealing with history, civil rights, business, hobbies, or regional interest. All work must be original. Please query with:

1) A professional query letter which includes the title of your novel, word count, genre, short bio, whether or not the proposed work has been previously published in any format, and your contact information. Include these items in the body of your e-mail.

2) A synopsis of your book that describes the story from beginning to end. Please keep it to 2-3 pages in length. For a non-fiction book including illustrations, please indicate the number of illustrations, the type of illustrations (sketch, photograph, etc.) and on what basis you hold rights to the illustrations.

3) First three chapters.

As a member of the team, the Communications Lead is responsible for organizing, developing and enabling the communications processes including regular email announcements, newsletter, blog postings, and other written and oral communications as required. This role will work with subject matter experts to develop content for the creation of marketing collateral, manage the internal comms plan and collaborate with Marketing as needed.

Accountable for establishing and managing the global Communications Plan. Accountable for coordinating with global subject matter specialists to draft and deliver the content for individual announcements and topics. There are typically 2-3 written email announcements per week plus a weekly/bi-weekly blog entry. Aligns communications with knowledge repository and overall marketing messages.

Requires excellent English grammar, spelling and business writing skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Interest in emerging communications tools and techniques preferred (eg. social media)

Interest in and familiarity with the utilities (gas, electricity and water companies) would be an advantage
