As a result of their commitment to creating relevant solutions that meet their clients’ changing investment needs they have recently created a new venture consisting of state-of-the-art technology, a novel business model and innovative products.

On their behalf, we are searching for a suitably qualified individual to assist in them in pushing forward this business initiative in the position of Operations Manager. The successful candidate may be based in Bermuda, Vancouver or the UK depending in part on their preferences and portability.

Main Responsibilities
•Lead operations associate team to conduct research, design systems and processes, and subsequently pilot/ test/ refine to support creation of novel and massively scalable/ reliable/ cost effective operational models
•Work with business and development managers to define innovative features for product and service design (for both customer facing and internal systems)
•Define collaboration model with internal and 3rd party service providers (e.g., custodian, administrator), conduct rigorous selection, and lead in subsequent integration process to ensure quality and timely service delivery
•Design operations group’s day-to-day organization, hire and train up day-to-day team
•Setup regional headquarters in preparation for country launch
•Motivate both operations associates and day-to-day team and provide close mentorship and coaching
•People manager and responsible for review process, soliciting input from a variety of sources
•Prepare Board level presentations and companywide updates to communicate status and generate excitement

Experience and Skills
•Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding academic record from a reputable university (preferably a 1st class/GPA3.5+ or equivalent degree)
•Master’s (especially MBA) or higher level degree strongly preferred
•At least 7 years of professional experience in a management consulting or operations role
•At least 4 years of previous people management experience (either as a full time manager or on a project basis)
•Previous operational experience with Canadian financial institutions a strong plus, especially in defining operational processes, setting up/ managing contact centers, developing/ deploying operational IT systems, and interfacing with Canadian banking systems
•Passion for joining a fast-paced hardworking startup environment key for success

Overview:
The successful candidate will join the global trading team in Bermuda as a senior analyst within the Trading Reporting and Governance group. They will work closely with other members of the business unit to provide systems risk management, IT governance oversight and reporting services. This is not a developer role but does require past development experience.

Major responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to: – Measuring, monitoring and reporting on Trading systems, data, and process related risk issues by analysing key risk indicators and other metrics. – Proposing, and assisting with, solutions to mitigate risk exposure to process, system, and internal/external events within the Trading group. – Liaising between Trading and other groups within the firm on risk issues, facilitating communication across all levels. – Producing trading related risk reports for various teams within the firm. – Coordinating and supporting audit and compliance reviews of the Trading operation. – Assisting with risk assessments of outgoing software releases and process enhancements. – Participating in the development of tools, processes and methodologies to enhance risk controls and process efficiency of the Trading team. – Participating and/or leading projects to implement new risk related policies and initiatives.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience: – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar discipline) with a first-class academic record – A minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial industry – Demonstrable proficiency in VB.Net or C# programming; Excel tools and VBA coding – Demonstrable proficiency with developing queries for relational database management systems (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server); 3 or more years of experience – An understanding of the risks associated with financial products and execution process (qualification in Finance or Risk Management is preferred) – Familiarity with IT control frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITCG, or similar) – Experience with the software development process and business continuity (disaster recovery) planning

Applications are invited for a Classroom Support Technician (E-Learning) to provide technical support in video conferencing and classroom multi-media technologies for University’s E-Learning. Oversees and maintains equipment, systems and spaces related to E-Learning multi-media technologies by performing repairs and upgrades. Administers both internal and external video conferencing sessions and works closely with the University’s partners in interactive video conferencing classroom (IVC) programs providing technical support and troubleshooting. Works with faculty and staff to schedule and deliver original technical instruction on IVC classes, desktop video conferencing and other media streaming applications. Works as part of a team to develop policies and procedures for area access and creates instructional documents. May provide some day to day direction to student monitors. Work supports live video curriculum delivery and requires high service standards. Applicants will have:

• Two year diploma or equivalent certificate in a media related field of audio, film/video or audio visual installation.
• At least two to three years direct experience in a comparable position in a service position and/or in a post-secondary educational environment.
• OR an equivalent level of education and/or experience.
• Considerable practical experience installing, maintaining, diagnostic, repairing and operating all types of multi-media equipment.
• Experience in organizing and directing the work of others.
• Ability to clearly communicate the fundamental characteristics of audio visual equipment and video conferencing systems and demonstrate use through step-by-step procedures.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work with minimum supervision in a time-sensitive environment.
• Good mechanical and electronic aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Considerable knowledge of touch screen and IP based control systems.
• Considerable knowledge of computer operating systems such as the Internet, Word, Excel.
• Considerable knowledge of video conferencing equipment, video streaming applications, networking and other related computer software and hardware.
• Ability to work under pressure and react calmly to problems in live video course delivery.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy delicate equipment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty and students and to maintain high service standards.

Some Typical Duties:
1. Under the general direction of the Media Services Manager and the day to day supervision of the AV Coordinator, provides support to faculty, students and staff on classroom multi-media equipment for University E-Learning.
2. Establishes internal and external IP video conference sessions. Operates video conferencing and instructional multi-media equipment for video conferencing and Interactive Video Conferencing (IVC) classes, adjusting cameras, audio and presentation sources. Monitors and maintains quality and connectivity during sessions. Advises and assists remote video conferencing technicians.
3. Oversees video conferencing and classroom multi-media technologies for University E-Learning for damage and diagnoses any problems. Performs repairs or consults with Senior Equipment Technician and ITS on repair suitability and options when repairs are extensive. Ensures repairs are corrected in a timely manner, that users are informed of changes and updated on repair progress and that equipment and system substitution area in place.
4. Works with faculty and staff to schedule and deliver workshop and orientation and original technical instruction on IVC classes, desktop video conferencing and media streaming applications.
5. In consultation with faculty, ITS, and directed by supervisor, develops policies and procedures on access to video conferencing multi-media equipment for E-Learning spaces. Creates and maintains instructional documents in both print and electronic formats and maintains information signage and booking system for video conferencing spaces.
