Summer Youth Outreach & Film Project Leader

Job Overview:
• To assist the Prevention Education Coordinator in running the Teens Educating Against Misuse Summer youth program.
• To assist in a variety of team building activities/outings and facilitate prevention education related programming around a chosen topic as selected by youth (drug and alcohol misuse, anti-homophobia, HIV/AIDS, etc.).
• To film and edit a video project showcasing the Collingwood Neighbourhood Prevention Education program.
• To help youth develop an interactive, theatrical and educational performance which will be showcased to youth groups within the community.
Qualifications:
Required:
o Must be available between 10am and 6pm Monday through Fridays.
o Very strong film and video editing skills.
o Previous experience working with teenagers.
o Was full-time student the previous school year and will be returning to school in the fall.
o Interest or experience in working with social youth issues (e.g. drug and alcohol misuse, anti-homophobia, HIV/AIDS, etc.).
o Highly creative and independent.
Assets:
o Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
o Knowledge of the Collingwood Prevention Program and the community.
o Enthusiastic and outgoing character.
o Experience in facilitating workshops and presentations.
o Theatre experience.
o Class 4 drivers license.
o First Aid training.
Job Details:
$14.70/hour for 30 hours/week for 8 weeks
Job runs June 29-August 21
