Manager, IS Solutions Support Services
North Vancouver, BC
Position Highlights:
Join our IS Enterprise Solutions team where you will plan and direct the overall development and enhancement of application systems and programs for various lines of business.
Specific Accountabilities:
• Collaborates with user divisions/departments to develop strategic directions, goals and plans for the business use of application solutions.
• Directs the planning, development and installation of computer application solutions according to requirements of business lines. Adjusts priorities and resources as required.
• Develops operational and maintenance strategies to facilitate the integration and ongoing effective use of systems applications. Promotes a customer service orientation.
• Prepares, evaluates and implements related policies, standards, and practices for applications development and support.
• Oversees the evaluation, acquisition, and sustainment of third party products and services.
Position Requirements:
• Dynamic and innovative leader, capable of building and maintaining strong and effective relationships as well as affect change from a position of influence.
• Excellent communicator, able to clearly present complex information through the spoken and written word.
• Knowledge of industry trends, developments, standards, best practices, and tools in applications and systems development.
• Knowledge of relevant corporate information technology strategy, infrastructure, environment and architecture.
• Knowledge of corporate project life cycle, relevant corporate computer systems and applications.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of project management.
• Knowledge and experience in administering service and licensing agreements with vendors, contractors and consultants.
• Considerable experience managing medium to large scale IS development and integration projects.
• Responsible for the development, management and execution of an IS project portfolio plan.
• Knowledge of quality assurance best practices for project management and IS solution development and integration.
• Knowledge of leading systems development lifecycles (SDLC).
• Many years of related direct/indirect work experience in a continuous learning environment is typically required for someone to perform this job competently.
• Computer science degree (or equivalent) is required; ideally supported by a PMP designation.
