Manager, IS Claims Services
North Vancouver, BC
Position Highlights:
Reporting to the Manager, IS Business Solutions, the successful candidate will be a proactive, results oriented individual with a diverse skill set who can manage the day-to-day operations of the IS Claims Services portfolio of applications. The incumbent will continue the current department business strategies, as well as monitor and support current projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the portfolio of IS solutions for Claims ensuring the stability, availability and reliability of all systems.
As well as:
• Managing staff and project teams by setting goals and objectives based on corporate and divisional plans and objectives, measuring performance and providing direction to achieve optimal results.
• Supporting line-of-business tactical and operational needs relating to IS business solutions and applications, including:
• Consulting with the business in planning new solutions
• Providing an advisory service to Project Managers, IS Project Leads and business customers to ensure solutions are delivered according to business needs
• Maintaining customer service levels
• Identifying and implementing improvements to the line-of-business solution portfolio
• Maintaining relationships with third-party software vendors for providing and sustaining solutions
• Maintaining and developing staff expertise in application development, and systems and business systems analysis.
Position Requirements:
• Dynamic and innovative leader, capable of building and maintaining strong and effective relationships as well as affect change from a position of influence.
• Excellent communicator, able to clearly present complex information through the spoken and written word.
• Knowledge of industry trends, developments, standards, best practices, and tools in applications and systems development.
• Knowledge of relevant corporate information technology strategy, infrastructure, environment and architecture.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of project management.
• Many years of related direct/indirect work experience in a continuous learning environment is typically required for someone to perform this job competently.
