A Maternity Leave has resulted in an opportunity to join our Corporate Accounting function for 14 months, effective February 1st, 2012
You are a seasoned Senior Accountant who welcomes challenges and enjoys a variety of tasks. You are known for attention to detail, friendly manner and ability to multi-task and stay organized in a busy environment. You are a self-starter with a strong work ethic. You will be reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting and will have one direct report, a Corporate Accountant.
As a Senior Corporate Accountant your duties will include, but are not restricted to:
? Preparing:
? Quarterly consolidations and financial statements
? Variance and audit analysis for quarterly consolidated reporting
? Annual audit working papers
? T5 and NR4 for investors
? Quarterly surveys of financial statements
? Analysis for special projects
? Partnership tax returns (T5013s)
? Cash flow budget
? Memos to document internal control procedures, company policies and other
? Estimates for income tax as well as Income Tax returns
? Mentoring a Direct Report:
? Acting as resource and providing day to day guidance
? Reviewing:
? Monthly working papers for various entities in the consolidated group of companies
? Accounts receivable batches
? GST returns and simple Income Tax returns
? Departmental costs
? Inter-company, bank and general account reconciliations
? Collaborating on:
? Supporting documents for tax filings
? Ensuring compliance and implementation of corporate policies and procedures
? Your skills, attributes and experience include:
? Experience within a multiple entity environment
? Proven ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment
? A willingness to learn, along with a strong work ethic
? Strong computer skills with competency in Excel, Word and accounting software
? Real estate industry experience (preferred but not required)
? Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
? Designated CGA, CMA or CA or someone with 5 years of experience in similar role
