Family Counsellor & Supervisor (North Shore)

Seeking Family Counsellor & Supervisor for North Shore Family Counselling Program.
Education:
Master's Degree or equivalent
Summary of Experience and Proficiencies Required:
Social Sciences, and experience with specialized training in family counseling
Must be knowledgeable of current theories of child, youth, and adult development
Knowledge of Systemic Family Therapy
Familiarity with Ministry of Children and Family Development and current legislation relating to children and families
Computer knowledge and the ability to use a word processor
Strong communication skills, interpersonal ability, and supervisory ability
Ability to work independently with families in the community
Multi-lingual ability is a strong asset
Purpose of the Job:
Provide counseling to families and individuals referred through the Ministry. The family counselor is expected to liaise with and support case management plans of the Ministry and family. Clients of the Program are multi-lingual. Supervising counsellors who are staff of the program.
