Job Summary:
The Corix Group has an immediate opening for the position of Programmer Analyst. This position is based out of the Richmond office and will be responsible for designing and delivering future and related components of our workforce management product set. This is a chance to get involved in product development that spans fixed and mobile communities and assume an active role in shaping and delivering unique and innovative solutions to the marketplace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and write code in Java for deployment in a multi-instance, distributed application server architecture
Implement and support customer client solutions
Configure application components and XML descriptors to support specific business process and interface requirements
Develop and deploy installation packages, assess installation implications, and conduct installation deployments
Implement new features and maintain existing features
Create and maintain design and code documentation
Provide accurate time estimates of task duration and complete them within a reasonable deviation of the original estimate.
As directed, learn any language or technology necessary to meet the needs of the company
Gain experience, grow and become increasingly responsible for designing and architecting new solutions and extensions to existing solutions
Other Related Duties:
Participate as directed in the training or development of others
Coordinate the activities of project teams and/or system support teams
Complete, or assist with, detailed project assignments
Be familiar with and use department and methodology, as appropriate
Gain understanding of business needs in assigned project areas
Analyze alternatives, a technical analysis of each
Assist in defining internal customer acceptance criteria (testing)
Train internal customers on the new system as required
After the new system is operational, review the entire project for possible modifications, updates, or improvements; continue to periodically monitor the system
Communicate with internal customers, management, application teams, and application control or development teams throughout the duration of the project; serve as a consulting resource for internal customers
Assist with the strategic evaluation of new and existing technologies and the preparation of department budgets
Assist with the performance evaluation and coaching of team members
Follow safe practices in all work activities to avoid injuries and accidents
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Occasional travel will be required; must be able to travel to the USA
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience with Java web application development, including participation in a production implementation of a transactional site
Demonstrated customer relationship and delivery/project management experience
Experience with Java web-related technology (Java servlets, JSP, Java Script, HTML, DHTML, AJAX)
Experience with XML-based messaging and XSL-based rendering
Experience with JDBC database connectivity
Experience using source control tools and techniques
Demonstrated ability to create and work to a plan with minimal supervision and guidance
Testing, configuration and deployment experience
Good oral and written communication skills
Customer-focused approach
Desired Skills:
Experience conducting requirements analyses and drafting solution proposals for prospective customers
Effective and efficient problem solving skills
Experience with Tomcat server application development and deployment
Experience with C# and Windows Mobile Compact Framework
Exposure to SQLServer database development
Exposure to Google Web Toolkit
Familiarity with debugging tools/techniques
Full understanding of project life cycle
