Customer Service Representative 1 year contract (Surrey)

Our Surrey, BC location is currently seeking a Customer Service Rep to join their Customer Service Team for a 1 year contract term. This temporary position is responsible for accurate data entry of order information into our software system, cross training into order writing, responsible for writing customer orders to specification and reviewing written orders for accuracy.
Key Job Functions:
• Enter data into internal software system to ensure accurate production paperwork is generated.
• Process customer orders using machine sheets, quotation sheets, hardware templates and all other related paperwork.
• Must proof orders written by other writers for accuracy of information.
• Must be able to effectively and constantly communicate with estimating, purchasing, production, shipping and plant personnel as needed to ensure all order information is accurate.
• Review all information and paperwork on each order to ensure all information is correct and accurate (example: does quote request match the order?)
• Access hardware information on manufacturer’s websites per customer order.
• Fax or e-mail customer with discrepancies in orders such as hardware location conflicts.
• Follow through on all questions in a timely manner to ensure orders get processed as soon as possible.
• Actively participate in all departmental meetings and related training sessions including periodic plant tours.
• Must be flexible to work overtime as required at the discretion of the company (daily or weekends)
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Minimum High School education or Post-Secondary Education (University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent) an asset;
• Minimum 2 years experience in administration or customer service;
• Strong computer proficiency, including working knowledge of MS Office;
• Good organizational skills and attention to details;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in team environment;
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment;
• Ability to professionally communicate with other internal departments;
• Previous experience in the home building supplies industry or manufacturing environment is an asset;
