Role: Intermediate Accountant

UNFI is North America's leading distributor of natural and organic food with UNFI Canada, Grocery West presently servicing western Canada. We are presently looking for an Accountant. This role will be located in our Richmond, BC office. This is a fulltime contract role that is a maternity leave replacement. The role will be for approximately 10-12 months. The role will work within UNFI Canada, Grocery West's accounting department and report to the Controller.

Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare month end journal entries, account reconciliations, draft of financial statements
• Prepare government remittance, bank deposits and variance analysis reports
• Process full cycle accounts payable for Drive
• Handle out-bound freight payable for GW
• Backup for GW accounts payable
• Ad hoc projects

Job Requirements:
• Be able to multi-task with changing priorities
• Minimum 2 years related work experience
• Strong in Excel and computerized accounting software
• Flexible, accurate, attention to details, good work ethics
• Team player and quick learner
• CGA level 3 an asset
• Has a car (for bank deposit)
