The Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac team is expanding again, looking for a software test/ quality assurance engineer to join the growing team. As an integrated member of the team you'll be involved in all aspects of the development process from concept to implementation to delivery using agile practices in an open, collaborative environment. We are passionate about making excellent Mac software and looking for bright, results-oriented people with a similar point of view.
This role is located in our downtown Vancouver office.
Main duties
As a QA engineer on the team, you will work closely with developers throughout the development lifecycle to ensure our product meets our customers' high standards. Main activities include:
Collaborating with Product Management and the team on product design
Writing manual & automated test cases to verify product functionality as features are being developed
Working closely with developers to ensure features are built according to plan
You will be working as part of a team of software development professionals, using the latest tools, technologies, and industry best practices. Our team believes there's always room for improvement, so expect lots of opportunities to try out new processes and tools.
Experience and skills
Essential Experience and Skills
3+ years experience working with commercial software
Ability to learn and understand complex systems and technical issues
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Devotion to producing high quality, high performance systems
Able to prioritize, focus and drive tasks to completion
Sense of humor and a willingness to have fun
Desirable Experience and Skills
Experience testing commercial Mac or iOS software
Experience using Python or AppleScript
Experience working in an agile environment
Bachelors degree in Computer Software (or equivalent)
