Job Title: Marketing Specialist

Employer Information: IAM CARES SOCIETY is a non profit organization that assists individuals with disabilities and/or chronic health conditions to obtain employment. We are funded by the Provincial government and our office is located in North Vancouver, BC.
Job Purpose Summary: We are looking for a full-time, Marketing Specialist whose primary function is to market clients to potential employers, as well as market the program to other service providers/referring agencies.
This position would be suitable for those interested in pursuing a career within a social agency.
Position Reports To: Program Manager/Executive Director
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing
Direct Client Marketing: Market clients effectively to various employers to assist clients in obtaining employment.
? Contact prospective employers through various methods (phoning, faxing, door-to-door, cold-calling, etc.) to discuss their employment needs
? Market the benefits of hiring the clients
? Document marketing efforts (tracking sheets)
? Develop ongoing relationships with employers to understand their needs and respond effectively
? Determine effective strategies to assist clients' integration into the workplace
? Contribute to the development of innovative and creative marketing strategies
Program Marketing: Provide information on IAM CARES SOCIETY programs and services to clients, employers, government and agencies in community to increase awareness of services, generate appropriate participant referrals to the program and secure employment opportunities.
? Contact various companies, agencies and other community organizations to discuss IAM CARES SOCIETY programs
? Design marketing/advertising materials and coordinating distribution to target groups
? Publicize and promote the benefits of using IAM CARES SOCIETY services
? Make public presentations to employer associations
? Build referral sources for linking clients, employers and agencies to program
? Communicate employment issues as they relate to people with disabilities
2. Record Keeping
Generate Monthly Reports: Compile program information according to contract reporting requirements to meet the needs of the agency and the funders.
? Compile statistical and/or anecdotal information on marketing progress and program results
? Generate various reports (Networking and promotional contacts, monthly expenses, monthly tracking/contact sheets, etc.)
Maintain Appropriate Records: Maintain client and employer information using specific records management systems
? Maintain client files, which consists of Application Form, Release of Information Form, work history information or resume, Return-To-Work-Action-Plan, file notes, job placement and other documents as deemed appropriate
? Document client discussions and events in client file and database
? Record employer information in database
3. Other
? Participate in development of new and advanced service delivery models
? Assist the receptionist in performing any clerical and administrative duties as required
? A vehicle is necessary
Qualifications:
? B.A. in social sciences or Business, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
? Experience in sales and marketing
? Good computer skills
? Some knowledge of the labour market in Greater Vancouver.
? Experience serving clients with multiple barriers to employment including visible and non-visible disabilities, mental health barriers, addictions and socio-economic barriers would be an asset
