Financial Advisor Training Specialist (Downtown Vancouver)

We are currently looking for a skilled and professional Financial Advisor Training Specialist to assist the Learning and Development team in delivering a comprehensive financial training curriculum for our financial advisor community consisting of mutual fund, securities and insurance advisors. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the creation, delivery and maintenance of our L & D initiatives, with a specialization in the tools and systems utilized by our advisors.
The incumbent will be expected to deliver and actively contribute to the creation of all advisor training and support resources including sales processes, practice development, compliance requirements, operational requirements, system functionality, etc. The successful candidate must have a strong interest in working with advisors, enjoy a fast-paced environment within the financial services sector and desire a challenge in delivering the highest level of training support.
Responsibilities:
• Create training programs and facilitate regular training sessions using a variety of blended learning approaches including live, eLearning, WebEx, conference calls, etc., on a variety of topics relevant to licensed investment advisors;
• Function as a subject-matter expert and training facilitator for any and all platforms and applications used by the advisor community;
• Build and maintain an inventory of advisor-friendly resources and tools, including advisor reference guides, articles, process maps, helpful hints, best practices and FAQs;
• Document and facilitate the use of appropriate system requirements for training (with support from IT) for both demo regions and live users on both the MFDA / IIROC platforms;
• Assist in assessing programs for CE credit status; and
• Assist in the creation of various advisor communications as necessary.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5+ years' training, wealth management / investment subject matter expertise, and /or sales in the financial services industry;
• Training proficiency for systems, sales, investments, and general wealth practice management topics;
• Excellent writing skills;
• Strong facilitation and communication skills;
• College diploma or university degree with a business or financial focus;
• Completion of courses required for securities licensing through IIROC or the MFDA, such as the CSC, IFIC, or equivalent;
• Certified Financial Planner or equivalent would be an asset as well as any other wealth management, investment, insurance, financial planning, tax and / or estate planning courses or designations;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Email / Internet systems; and
• Working knowledge of advisor platform systems such as Univeris, Dataphile, Financial Software / Calculators, etc. will be considered a strong asset.
Required Skills/Competencies/Attributes:
• Well-developed training and facilitation skills, both in person and via web delivery;
• Knowledge of the financial services industry and advisor practices;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player;
• Demonstrated ability to clearly present ideas and information;
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills;
• Proven facilitation and coaching experience;
• Familiarity with adult educational program design, development and delivery;
• Experience using electronic communication technology and software (web presence and eLearning);
• Strong commitment to exceptional customer service;
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision;
• Well organized and able to work effectively to deadlines;
• Effective problem solving skills;
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
• Resourceful, creative and adaptable to a changing business environment; and
• Must be willing to travel.
