Casual Building Inspector II (City of Port Coquitlam)

The City of Port Coquitlam's Development Services Department is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated professional to join their team as a casual Building Inspector II. This is a temporary position expected to last between 6 -- 12 months.
This is technical, inspectional and regulatory work in the inspection of building construction, repair and alteration to ensure conformance and compliance to applicable codes, regulations, bylaws, standards and requirements. In addition, responsibility is entailed for checking plans, primarily for single family buildings, in processing permit issuance for buildings and other specific structures. Considerable independence of action and judgement is exercised in the interpretation and application of codes, standards, bylaws and regulations.
The 2011 rate of pay for this casual position is $37.15 per hour plus 12% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits. The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.
