Job Description
We are looking to fill our full-time Mexican music translator/arranger, performer and instructor position for Alegria Music Entertainment.

You will:
• Be proficient in, at least, three Mexican music instruments and singing (a must);
• Be a team player performing live and recording in studio for Mariachi los Dorados;
• Be playing for multiple ages and multicultural audiences on stage, weddings and numerous parties as required.
• Work closely with other musicians to help maintain the high quality of the Mariachi bands and music academy;
• Arrange Mariachi music and translate lyrics for the Canadian non-Spanish speaker members of the band for a better understanding of the songs;
• Be able to share your knowledge with your band co-workers (Mariachi Los Dorados) and to teach from kids to adults for our traditional Mexican music academy and for Los Castorcitos kids Mariachi band;
• Speak, write and read fluently in English and Spanish (a must);
• Be in charge of some administrative duties that include, but are not limited to: room rehearsal bookings, make and receive phone calls, set up studio audio gear for rehearsals and live performances when necessary.

Candidate Profile
Requirements:
• A minimum of 6 years of experience as a professional music performer and singer;
• A minimum of 6 years of experience as a recording in-studio musician;
• Experience of at least 4 years playing and arranging (composing if possible) Mariachi music;
• Be a team player a must;
• Availability and commitment to travel around Canada and represent Canada outside of it (USA and Mexico);
• Bachelors degree or music studies certificate from a recognized school;
• Knowledge of at least 3 traditional Mexican Mariachi instruments;
• Feel comfortable performing at schools, senior houses, multicultural events, TV shows, commercials and for different sexual orientation audiences;
• Feel comfortable wearing with respect the traditional Mariachi Los Dorados suit;
• Good English and Spanish music technical terminology (a must);
• Complete understanding of the Mexican music culture and Mariachi band structure;
• Experience teaching music to kids;
• Bring a lot of energy and a smile for the audience;
• Live and in-studio audio engineering knowledge an asset.
• Office duties knowledge an asset.
