The Low Down:

East Side Games, Inc. is looking for a Senior Game Artist to create kick *ss content for our FB and mobile games. You (yes, you!) are uber creative (obviously), but are also focused and driven to hit tight deadlines. You also have big aspirations of becoming an Art Director as it is a definite possibility for this role to transition into. Most of all, you love. love. love. working on crazy and just-a-little-out-there ideas and concepts.

East Side Games is a social and mobile gaming company located in the fabulously cool Gastown area of Vancouver. Our aim is to make quirky and original social and mobile games with a bit of edge and a lot of humour!!! Check us out at www.eastsidegamestudio.com!

What you’ll be doing:

• Build smart, well-designed assets, interfaces & animations for current & new games.
• Develop & bring together a coherent art style.
• Deliver an art style that appeals to a broad demographic, especially to a female audience.
• Design & create artwork & animation based on project specifications.
• Build rapid prototypes for user testing.
• Re-create optimized assets in vector from Photoshop files.
• Work collaboratively with the very talented, super fabulous Art team.
• Work cross-functionally with our savvy engineers & other departments to develop & enhance our games.

What you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Multimedia or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in design & animation.
• Advanced knowledge in Flash development: Actionscript 2 & 3, object-oriented programming, CPU/Memory optimization, JavaScript/Flash bridging, Cross-browser compatibility.
• Additionally advanced knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.
• Strong time management & the ability to assist other team members in problem solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication (i.e. has worked with cross functional teams).
• Professional experience in the social gaming industry is an uber big F#CK YEAH!
