Position Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Millwright shares the responsibility for the timely and quality repair and preventative maintenance of plant machinery and equipment to minimize downtime, maintain the life of equipment and ensure safe and efficient operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Timely and quality repair of production equipment.
• Align yourself and adhere to a preventative maintenance program.
• Overhaul equipment as required.
• Follow health and safety program, Good Manufacturing Practices, Safe working habits, and Continuous Improvement.
• Participate in improving operations through effective planning and scheduling of building and equipment maintenance activities and resources
• Prepared all aspect of the maintenance department to ensure that equipment and building are operating effectively
• Conduct maintenance repair work to machinery and building systems
• Follow all maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory codes while maintaining a safe workplace environment
• Procure, arrange for and direct building and equipment maintenance/repair, including parts and services purchased
• Implements preventative maintenance schedules and repair activities
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including: GMP, SQF, HACCP, Health & Safety, Attendance, etc.
• Follow safe work practices and procedures as per company policies and procedures and Work Safe regulations
Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• 3-5 years experience in an industrial/food processing environment an asset.
• Journeyman license.
• Industrial mechanics and electrical background (PLC knowledge an asset).
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a highly organized fashion with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work afternoon shift
• A Class 5 Power Engineering Certificate (boiler ticket) is an asset
