Triangle Community Resources in the Fraser Valley area is seeking an outgoing, resourceful, high-energy individual for our available Full Time Employment Counsellor/Job Developer position within one of our programs.

The position requires a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and cohesive team environment; sound working knowledge of counselling strategies to identify employment barriers, local labour market information, career decision making process, job search strategies, return to work action plan development. Confident facilitator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills must be able to communicate effectively with all types of clientele, employers, team members & peers.

The ideal candidate must have exceptional computer and Internet skills; enjoy working with individuals who face multiple barriers to employment. Have strong PR and Marketing skills, excellent verbal and written communication, self-motivation, multi-tasking, organizational, presentation leadership skills. Candidate will have strong work ethic and work in a team environment. The person will be responsible for facilitating employment and career decision making workshops, marketing workplace opportunities for program clients as well as promote, market and publicize the program to potential client groups, businesses, local service providers and community agencies. Must possess a minimum of a Certificate in Employment Counselling and/or directly related training and experience in the areas of marketing, community development and employment/career counselling.

Staff selection is predictably a key component in providing employment services to multi-barriered Participants. Assisting this Participant group has unique challenges; intensities and barrier combinations in an incredibly diverse Participant group. Recognizing this diversity, Triangle Community Resources employs a multi-phased approach to staff selection in which key attributes are weighed.
