As the Assistant Purchasing Manager, your goal will be to oversee the delivery of procurement and payment services for the City of Surrey, while ensuring the efficient and effective flow of information and allocation of resources.
This position provides advice to all levels of the organization; helps interpret and improve upon corporate policies and bylaws related to purchasing; and provides guidance, direction and supervision to professional, technical and clerical staff. Your ability to develop and maintain strong, positive working relationships will be a key driver of success. You are able to work under minimal supervision and exercise thorough independence of judgement and action, in accordance with the City's policies and procedures, discussing complex and policy matters with management.
You will bring more than 5 years of experience in a related management position, along with a Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce, a Professional Purchasing Designation and, preferably, a Professional Accounting Designation.
