About the Opportunity:
We are looking for two experienced technical support specialists to take on senior roles providing remote telephone and web-based assistance and occasionally onsite support for our customers. Working as part of a team, you will provide service during normal business hours and also provide off-hours emergency support on a rotating basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with customers who have questions or are experiencing problems with their wireless mobile network to diagnose and resolve issues related our products. Customer issues will typically be received via email and phone and resolved through use of interaction with the customers via diagnostics tools or interaction with third party organizations such as wireless service providers.
• Monitor network status using In Motion's network management products
• Perform troubleshooting of equipment returned for repair
• Prepare equipment required for trials or for specialized customer situations
• Update the Case Tracking System
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have at 5 or more years of experience working in a technical support role for a product development organization
• Supervisory experience
• Cisco CCNA experience or equivalent is required. Experience with CISCO VPN Server setup and operation or familiarity with other VPN products such as CheckPoint, Fortigate, and Nortel is desired.
• Hands-on knowledge of wireless technology and products incorporating these including 1xRTT, EvDO, GPRS EDGE, HSPA, 802.11 as well as systems management and/or infrastructure management software is a plus
• Strong Linux experience at the command line level is mandatory, must be able to write and use Linux shell scripts
• System administration experience is preferred
• Academic accreditation in a related field is mandatory
• Able to travel (< 20%) internationally
