The successful candidate for the role of Systems Engineer will be enthusiastic and self-motivated with proven skills and experience in Systems and Network configuration and troubleshooting. This role will involve design, implementation and maintenance of technical solutions for internal, hosted and third party services. We require a strong communicator with excellent planning and diagnostic skills who can leverage his/her prior experience with WAN/LAN, Server 2008, SQL2008, II7, SharePoint and Exchange in order to help us streamline our IT Operations and deliver highly available top tier solutions.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- 3 to 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong UNIX/LINUX system administration skills
- Broad knowledge of industry standard platforms with a focus on Windows client and Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint, IIS7 and IBM or Dell Servers and Workstations
- Troubleshooting experience with Network Infrastructure Hardware including Switches, Firewalls and Load Balancers
- Proven client engagement consulting and implementation track record
- Superior verbal and written English communication skills!
- Experience working in cloud computing and virtualized server environments is highly desirable
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Design, planning and implementation of highly available hardware and software solutions to improve reliability and supportability of existing internal and hosted systems
- Work closely with our development team to determine platform requirements for in-development solutions
-Coordinate actions with DevOps team within cloud computing and virtual servers
- Recommend, design, implement and deliver platforms which adhere to industry best-practices and ensure the successfully delivery of hosted software solutions
- Perform regular maintenance on Internal and Hosted systems including patch management, backups and proactive issue identification / resolution
- Provide back-up support for Internal IT Systems and primary, on-call support for hosted, production systems
- Proactive identification and implementation of methods to improve and streamline existing systems
Partnerpedia is a relatively small and dynamic company and as such members of the Systems Team are sometimes called on to help out with tasks outside of their job role; are you able to assemble a desk without instructions?
