Job Title: Surveillance Investigator Department: Surveillance

Reports to: Operations Manager/Branch Manager Date: Sept 6, 2011



JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for delivery of quality and timely investigations by compliance with FIC Standards and Practices.

TASKS:

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

• This fulltime position includes being on call at various times throughout the day, evening hours, and weekend days.
• Surveillance through the continual observation of a person or group in a discrete manner
• Investigative questionable insurance claims on behalf of our customers
• Report your findings to our customers in accordance with FIC Standards and Practices
• Ensure FIC Client Protocols are followed are followed
• Develop alliances with local police forces, other investigative bodies and sources within the community
• Conduct fraud investigations
• Undercover work
• This individual will be responsible to perform Statement taking



ACCOUNTABLITIY:

• To ensure compliance with defined procedures practices and standards as set out by FIC, as well as are in compliance with Provincial and Federal Legislation. As a condition of employment, all employees will maintain confidentiality of all records and information relating to the business of Forensic Investigations Canada.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYEMENT:

• Private Investigation license and driver license and able to produce a drivers abstract
• Maintain the cost of not less than 1,000,000 of automobile liability insurance
• Be willing to travel
• Have a suitable surveillance vehicle




QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

• Post Secondary School education or equivalent training and experience
• Prior Investigation experience an asset and will be giving weighted consideration
• Loss Prevention Exp will be necessary if no investigative experience
• Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Self starter with ability to work on your own

• Good organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize work as required.
• Ability to meet deadlines as required
• Problem solving capabilities
• Ability to work with others
• Strong writing and oral skills
• Computer use

• Ability to Preserve Discretion
