Team Leader - Early Childhood Educator (North Shore Multicultural Society)

We are seeking a certified Early Childhood Educator to work as Team Leader for the Immigrant Women's English Program with child care. You must have a passion for ECE, and the skills and ability to develop and mentor a team to provide day-to-day planning, programming and operations of the Child Care activities.
The Team Leader becomes familiar with the ECE and Family Literacy program contracts and operations, and understands clearly his/her role in achieving the stated goals and contractual outcomes, through either direct or indirect means.
Responsible for the Supervision of the 4 child care staff. .
1. Supervision Received and Given: Reports to the Women's ESL Program Coordinator. Provides direct supervision for Child Care Staff.
2. Work Schedule: 12 hrs/week -- for 32 weeks - Contract Period -- October 1, 2011 to June 2012. Renewal dependent on funding. This position follows the school calendar and does not operate during school holidays. Sessions operate Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings.
Additional 24 hours for development of curriculum and operational guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
a) Knowledge: Knowledgeable about ECE and Family Literacy program models.
Knowledgeable about the needs of immigrant families an asset.
b) Education: ECE certification.
c) Skills: Excellent organizational, program operation and communication skills.
Experience and skill in program leadership and staff supervision skills.
d) Experience: Several years of experience (3-4 yr.) in organizing and delivering ECE programming.
