Direct Mail Specialist (San Luis Obispo, California USA)

If you do, we are currently looking for a Direct Mail Specialist/Database Manager to oversee the success of direct mail projects.
Job Responsibilities Include:
• Serve as an in-house expert in the Direct Mailing field.
• Support the sales and customer service staff in regards to design of mail pieces, possible postage saving methods, and other general mailing questions.
• Receive mailing list(s) from customers and preflight data for usability.
• Manipulate data as necessary to create a compatible format.
• Inspect, format, and fix client provided mailing lists to reduce undeliverable mail pieces.
• Purchase custom mailing lists for clients and their projects.
• Use AccuZip to perform NCOA and CASS process of mailing lists.
• Presort mailing lists using AccuZip to obtain discounted mailing rates and prepare documentation for the Post Office.
• Maintain a good working relationship with USPS personnel and their Bulk Mailing Centers.
• Continuous learning of industry practices and USPS regulations.
• Create approved data files for the inkjet machines and/or digital presses.
• Manage postal accounts to ensure post office will accept and deliver mail pieces.
• Work with our other company services, primarily print, to create value-added experiences to customers through a wider range of capabilities.
• Be able to work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Be able to multi-task with strong attention to details.
• Some travel may be required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Graphic Communications, Graphic Arts or similar field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the Graphic Arts or similar industry with at least 1 year dealing with Direct Mail. VDP knowledge a PLUS.
• Previous experiences in mail processing industry a PLUS.
• Demonstrated ability in working with clients and vendors.
• Have verifiable experiences and knowledge in using AccuZip, BCC Mail, or other similar applications that performed CASS certification, PreSort, NCOA, merge/purge, or other categories in relations to data processing for bulk mailing and the postal system.
• Excellent computers skills using Microsoft Office suites with extensive knowledge in Excel and Access.
• Have experience in dealing with International mail.
• Must have good written and verbal communication.
• Must be dependable and flexible with working hours.
• Must be detailed oriented with strong focus on quality
• Experience in C-programming or similar is desired but not required.
