IN THE SPOTLIGHT - In-House Legal Counsel -- Real Estate (Downtown Vancouver)

Our client, one of Canada's leading Real Estate Development companies, is looking for an experienced Lawyer to be their Legal Counsel. You will advise and provide consulting services on all real estate issues on behalf of the company. You will be dividing your time between Strategic Development and daily Legal Administration.
In this role your duties will include (but not limited to):
-Support the president on legal issues on a daily basis and provide consulting services related to all Real Estate business matters.
-Assist with strategic planning and communicate effectively with all related departments: Financial/Construction/Marketing/Development/Customer Service/Property Management
-Review legal agreements including preparing court documents and pleadings
-Attend council meetings
-Review various business correspondence and reply
-Administer and attend all small claims court matters
-Establish a filing system for all Corporation Annual Reports/update and ensure Minute Books are current
-Assist in Tax/Estate planning work
-Oversee condo closings are accurate -- SOA's, LTF's
-Traveling will be required in Canada and US.
The successful applicant must have at least 5 years of recent legal experience in Real Estate. An exposure to a broad range of legal practice experience is an asset. The candidate must have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, a strong business acumen, and be able to effectively handle challenging situations in a time sensitive environment.
