Junior Software Developer
We are looking for a proactive entry level individual with a broad knowledge of modern web technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will be involved in building complex, reliable tools using a web interface while constantly working with production staff and artists to assess on other production needs.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Developing and maintaining in-house client/server web-based tracking systems and various production pipeline tools.
- Planning and implementing robust software to accommodate the new challenges in upcoming studio projects.
- Liaising with production staff to implement new tools and processes to aid their needs.
- Inventing, analyzing, optimizing algorithms or data structures to improve our current systems
- Helping to define the user model and user interface for new and existing production tools.
Qualifications:
- B.Sc in Computing Science or equivalent experience.
- Solid foundation with software development methodologies, client/server paradigm and object-oriented paradigms.
- Good working knowledge of web-based technologies including PHP, Perl, JavaScript, VBScript, and HTML/CSS.
- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational database design. Experience with MySQL is preferred.
- Solid background in mathematics.
- Must be able to write clean, maintainable code.
- User Interface design would be an asset.
- Ability to take direction well and execute on a project with limited supervision.
- Quick learner with excellent organizational skills and strong communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and with good work ethics.
The following skills are not required but are good complements:
- Knowledge of C++, Java, or Python
- Background in computer graphics to help understand the production work performed at Nerd Corps.
- Knowledge of 3D Animation tools such as Autodesk Softimage or Maya
