Position Title: Information Systems Specialist
Department: Information Systems

Summary: Provide technical support to internal users Provide systems configuration in IT equipment Diagnose hardware and software issues
Responsibilities:
? Provide Tier 1 end user technical support in IT equipment
? Diagnose and resolve workstation and laptop hardware issues
? Diagnose and resolve desktop client software and stand- alone application issues
? Build workstation hardware
? Install and configure Windows operation systems and software applications in workstation and laptop equipment
? Evaluate new IT technologies
? Execute on-going IS programs
? Maintain knowledge in all aspects of IS operations
? Work with IS team members to resolve cross functional issues
? Assist Infrastructure Team in IS projects roll-out
? Track and provide progress to IS Operations Team Lead
? Create documentation in IT tools and processes
? Perform other duties as required
Job Challenges: Information Systems Specialist works in a high paced, high interrupt environment. Requires strong multi-tasking abilities to support office computers in a network environment. Requires high organization skills to plan and deploy solutions. Needs effective communication and excellent customer service skills. Nature of position requires familiarization in current IT technologies. Requires good integration of hardware/software solution to provide effective IT solution. Good understanding of company culture and knowledge of various departmental requirements and processes.
Guidance Provided: Information Systems Manager provides short and long term strategic planning for IS department. IS Operations Team Lead provides guidance and direction in on-going IS operations and programs. IS Operations Team Lead sets guidelines and requirements for standardizing new technologies.
IS Infrastructure Team Lead, Network Administrators, and IS Client Systems Engineer provide technical guidance.
Supervision: N/A
Reports to: Manager, Information Systems
Accountable to: IS Operations Team Lead, IS Infrastructure Team Lead
Recommendations: Recommend improvements to current IS programs and daily operations. Recommend technical solutions to internal users.
Qualifications Required:
a) Education: Bachelor of Computer Science or College/Computer Technology
Certificate, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent experience.
b) Experience: Preferably 2+ years with IT experience

Critical Skills: Information Systems Specialist possesses a high level of initiative and energy to succeed in this fast paced and highly interrupted environment, as well as several of the following skills:
? Strong ability in building systems using common hardware components
? Good experience in installing and configuring Windows operating systems under a network environment
? Good ability in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
? Experience in creating master disks for image ghosting
? Good experience in Microsoft Office suite
? Familiarize in Microsoft, Adobe, HP, Dell, Asus, and wide range of enterprise level technologies
? Experience working within a help desk, call center environment
? Knowledge of TCP/IP networking skills
? Knowledge of network security issues
? Possess good understanding of current IS programs
? Experience tracking latest IT development and manufacturing trends
? Good ability in handling high volume of IT issues
? Good technical knowledge coupled with good analytical troubleshooting skills
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills
? Good organization skills with attention to details
? Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
