Senior Project Manager - Healthcare (Vancouver)

maxIT Health Care Canada is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager with extensive Cerner experience for the BC Health Region.
The project will focus on the account provisioning and management aspects of user management; ensure compliance with the provincial eHealth access model requirements; and adopt and extend best practices already in place, as well as drawing on the experience and practices of other BC Health Authorities.
The initial focus will be in putting in place user management processes for new Cerner application modules, and the eHealth Viewer. Subsequently, the same processes will be expanded and retrofitted to existing applications.
Project Manager Responsibilities:
· Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
· Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
· Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the project.
· Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
· Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
· Minimizes exposure and risk on project.
· Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
· Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a monthly basis.
· Holds regular status meetings with project team.
· Effectively communicates relevant project information to steering committee and other stakeholders.
· Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
· Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
· Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
· Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
· Sets and manages client expectations and manages day-to-day client interaction.
· Leads internal teams/task forces
Education and Experience Requirements :
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent and extensive IM/IT work experience
· 7+ years of project management experience running multi stakeholder, complex projects
· PMP certification considered desirable
· Hospital Clinical Information Systems considered desirable
· Excellent administrative (follow-up) skills required.
· Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
· Requires excellent problem resolution abilities and strong process development/improvement skills.
· Able to start immediately
