JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a proactive intermediate to senior Business Analyst who can quickly grasp technical concepts and is an individual with strong initiative, leadership, presentation, documentation and communication skills. This position is a business analyst on a large, fast-paced, software implementation project in Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Understand the internal and client organization's direction, structure and requirements
• Work with all levels of the customer organization to define software requirements and specifications
• Conduct requirements reviews and knowledge transfer with the customer and the development team, both may be virtual and involve multiple teams
• Lead / Participate in cross team design sessions in order to maintain functional/UI consistency
• Understand and communicate business and technical dependencies related to requirements
• Provide timely support to development and test teams to review business and technical designs, test cases and test results.
• Manage, develop and maintain requirement deliverables according to company and project standards including use cases, functional requirements, domain models, process and data flows
• Identify and document system deficiencies and recommend solutions
• Provide support for estimates and project planning
• Follow project schedule for completing tasks, report status as required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Post Secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or Business related fields.
• 3+ years experience as a business systems analyst
• Experienced in the full life cycle of large software development project definition, development, delivery and support
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, writing, and presentation skills in English
• Proven experience leading requirement gathering sessions, reviewing business process and creating Use Cases
• Good understanding of business analysis process methodologies
• Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed
POSITION ASSETS
• Knowledge of the power utilities industry
• Knowledge of software Industry
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experienced in the following software management tools: Team Foundation Server, HP Quality Centre
• Experience in software user testing
