iPhone/Android Programmer
Founded in 2005, LinguaComm developed the world's first "smart" mobile app that engages you in realistic simulated conversations. Building on years of research into best practices in conversational language learning and interactive design, we created Supiki. Supiki aims to help 1 Billion English language learners meet their need for affordable conversation practice anytime, anywhere without embarrassment. A well funded company, we are undergoing rapid commercialization and are looking for talented and enthusiastic additions to the team!
We are looking for a Smartphone Programmer for the iPhone and Android platforms. Supiki is an innovative and complex SDK-based iOS app. The successful candidate will be someone who loves programming, creating new solutions, doing things that haven't been done before, and occasionally pushing the boundaries of the iPhone platform. If this is you, and you meet the qualifications below, we would love to hear from you.
Technical Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years professional programming experience
- 1 to 2 years iOS professional application development experience
- 1 to 2 years Android professional application development experience
- Solid knowledge of Objective C and C programming
- Thorough familiarity and experience using the iOS/Android SDK
- Knowledge and understanding of SQLite
- Experience with object oriented programming
- Familiarity creating apps that call on Apple/Android and 3rd part APIs
- Familiarity with iPhone/Android audio recording and playback APIs
- Proven ability to follow and implement Apple HCI guidelines
- Proven ability to implement built-in and custom user interfaces
- Experience implementing in-app purchasing
- Experience using source control software (ideally, Git)
- Experience testing and troubleshooting iPhone/Android apps (including use of standard tools)
- Ability to innovate on the iPhone/Android platform
- Proven ability to take app through the Apple publishing process (at least one app published on the Apple AppStore)
- Proven ability to take app through the Android publishing process (at least one app published on the Android Market)
Personal Qualifications:
- Proven ability to translate functional specifications into effective, efficient and well-commented code
- A proven commitment to achieving success
- A good and pro-active communicator
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Good time management skills, and a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Able to work well without supervision
- An excellent collaborator with the ability to work productively with other team members, including graphic designers
- A commitment to learning and professional growth
- Located in Metro Vancouver
Educational Qualifications:
- Computing Science degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
