Verathon has an exciting opportunity on our team for a Software Engineering Team Leader! The Software Engineering Team Leader is responsible for critical software development for our new medical devices and products. They are expected to work with the research and development team to provide technical acumen, development and support for a variety of technologies. Principal Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate all the software activities on one or more projects.
• Plan and/or participate in design reviews.
• Clearly understand key technical components of the product and drive them forward in innovative ways
• Collaborate with developers to synthesize requirements into functional specifications and drive the feature priorities through the product development lifecycle
• Lead team to develop and manage the overall project plan to ensure compliance with requirements and meet product release timelines, resolving issues and managing risk as needed
• Complete Software Requirements, Specifications and Design Documentation.
• Follow process and suggest process improvements
• Firmware, Device Driver and Software Application development under Linux and Windows CE.
• Designing Complete System Software Architectures utilizing best practices with regards to Embedded Systems.
• Full-Cycle development including Requirements, Design, Prototyping, Implementation, Testing and Manufacturing for high-reliability and high-performance medical devices.
• Manufacturing support to ease and streamline manufacturing process.
• Maintain and support existing C/C++ products.
• Execute on all phases of Product Development including debugging and unit testing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• BS or MS in computer science or equivalent
• 10+ Years as a Software/Firmware Developer/Engineer.
• Experienced programming in C/C++ with a strong hardware/firmware design background.
• Knowledge of FDA, IEC, and ISO regulations and guidelines preferred.
• Familiar with Digital Video/Image Technology and Digital video processors (TI or FreeScale)
• Familiar with Digital Memories and storage technologies (NOR, NAND, SD cards...)
• Familiar with Wireless protocols and modules (WiFi, BlueTooth, 3G)
• In-depth knowledge of SoC and SOM development would be an asset.
• Detail oriented, methodical, well organized, and interested in the latest technology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent "team player", strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated.
• Able to make independent judgments using sound engineering principles and techniques.
