Mount Pleasant Family Centre (MPFC) is a well-established non-profit Family Resource Program in East Vancouver offering a range of community-based support services to families with young children, pre-birth to 5, including on and off-site play and learn drop-in programs, parenting support resources and information and the city-wide outreach project for refugee families with young children.
With the planned retirement of the current Executive Director, MPFC is seeking a new director to manage the society's activities and operations, and ensure the continuation of quality family programs that are responsive to community needs. Reporting to the MPFC Board of Directors, the ED will be responsible for ensuring all legal and financial requirements of the society are met, for supporting the volunteer Board of Directors in fulfilling its mandate, ensuring the effective day to day operation of the organization, managing the society's human resources, liaising with funders and representing the organization at funding and community tables.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:-
- relevant university degree and/or knowledge and skills acquired through equivalent combination of education and experience,
- experience in the administration and management of a non-profit society,
- experience in staff and program supervision and management,
- experience in the Family Resource Program / Community Social Service sector including a working knowledge of family support services and demonstrated skills in community relations,
- experience in the delivery of family resource programming, child development and parent support programs.
