Position: Events Coordinator-Intern

Events Coordinator Responsibilities:
• Coordinate an event from planning through to execution
• Confirm in?kind sponsors and solicit in?kind donations of gift baskets, silent auction items, etc.
• Obtain logos and other marketing information from sponsors
• Create floor plans for events and come up with decorating ideas individually and as part of a team
• Liaise with venues to confirm logistics
• Determine rental requirements for catered events
• Determine volunteer shift requirements
• Organize and help with jury auditions of performing and visual artists for Emerging Youth Talent component of each festival event
• Provide key information regarding each performer/artist to the team
• Prepare simple presentations for chocolate workshop events
• Maintain/prepare written reports such as a critical path and event timeline to track planning of an event for existing execution and future reference
• Work as an integral part of brainstorming, planning, and executing festival events as part of the overall festival team
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Must be a highly motivated individual who can take initiative without constant supervision
• Previous experience in event management an asset
• Previous experience in working with volunteers an asset
