As a member of our client's Backup Operations group, the Backup Analyst plays a critical and important role in the day to day operational support for existing backup infrastructure. This position is also responsible for the implementation of new backup infrastructure, playing an important role in driving the direction of new storage and data management technologies. This is a an initial 6 month contract with a strong possibility of extension.

Required Knowledge

- Sound experience in developing and documenting technology orientations and solutions
- Experience with the deployment of enterprise solutions in a global enterprise
- Strong understanding of technologies and marketplace in storage systems and their management, and service level measurement
- Strong knowledge of Netbackup backup solution for data backup and recovery.
- Strong knowledge of Data Domain and de-duplication
- Knowledge of NetBackup using SSO configuration will be an asset.
- Knowledge in operating large backup infrastructures.
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Sun Solaris experience would be an asset
- Experience with large director class Fibre Channel switches (Brocade, McDATA) would be an asset.

Required Skills and Abilities

- Troubleshooting OS, hardware, network, storage, SAN, and Backup application problems
- Troubleshooting large, complex multi-vendor environments
- Handling multiple tasks efficiently and work on a wide range of systems
- Ability to go on call.

Additional Requirements: Skill Name Experience

3+ year(s) in Enterprise level Storage and Backup Administration ( pref. including Unix and Wintel boxes/ servers) 2 - 4 years

Symantec Net Backup and Data Domain (EMC)skills Mandatory

Nice-to-have: Veritas Netbackup Administration or Brocade Certification < 2 years

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic police record check Mandatory
