We are looking for a Senior Payroll and Benefits Accountant to join immediately with a large, reputable company located within the heart of downtown Vancouver!

The successful candidate will have strong payroll accounting knowledge and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Job Duties:

• Financial analysis related to payroll and benefits, including monthly detailed compensation reports
• Provide financial reports to managment, internal control and external auditors
• Process government remittances and reconcile payroll tax accounts
• Ensure company is following best practices in payroll and is in compliance with all required payroll legislation and regulations
• Work with Benefits Supervisor to ensure benefits reconciliations are identified and processed are put in place for the Benefits Team.
• Support Manager with special projects and year-end preparation
• Assist Manager with reviewing procedures, processes and controls with recommendations for improvements
• Assist HR with special requests as needed

• Review HRIS/Payroll system and recommend improvement(s) for increased efficiency

Skills & Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of senior payroll experience including analytical accounting
• Experience in processing advanced payroll for over 1,000 employees across Canada
• Strong payroll accounting knowledge
• Canadian Payroll Association Certificate (CPA)
• Superior communication skills both verbal and written
• Adaptable to changes in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude, highyl motivated and demonstrates leadership
• Proven ability to work well in a team environment
• Advanced computer skills using MS Excel, Word, & Outlook
• Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Abilty to provider guidance and coaching to team

The salary range is within $50,000 – $60,000 per year based on experience.
