Payroll Assistant (Mt Seymour, North Vancouver)

Mt Seymour Resorts is a winter recreation area located in North Vancouver. We are currently seeking a full time - seasonal (potential for position to become year round) payroll assistant to join our Accounting/ Human Resources departments. Position will commence in September and continue through until the end of May
Duties will include preparation of the bi-weekly payroll for up to 450 seasonal and year round employees, maintaining all personnel records, and handling a variety of Human Resources Administration duties. Position reports to the Human Resources Manager who overseas the payroll function. Position will also assist with some Accounting duties as required.
This position would suit someone who has just finished college or university and is seeking some experience in the human resources or general accounting fields. While some previous payroll experience would be desirable, it is not essential as training can be provided.
Candidates must be extremely well organized; detail orientated with excellent communication skills. Good time management skills, the ability to work independently, accurate typing skills and excel experience also required.
Due to the nature of our business, candidates must be able to work a Sunday to Thursday work week during the resorts operating season which is December to early April. Outside of these months normal work week is Monday to Friday.
A friendly and flexible approach to work as well as an interest in the recreation industry are also required. Some formal accounting education would also be an asset.
This position is based on Mount Seymour; therefore candidates must have their own vehicle.
