Mediator (British Columbia)

Our government client at Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada is currently seeking a temporary Mediator
Requirements
Proficiency in French or English is mandatory
Location: Multiple locations in Canada (Pacific Region - The entire provinces of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory )
Experience
•Conducted at least six (6) civil mediations as a primary mediator (i.e. for which the mediator was directly responsible for leading the meetings) or sole mediator, completed within the last fifteen (15) years; AND
•At least three (3) of the civil mediations conducted must have been "fee paid", remunerated either by fee or by salary for services rendered; AND
•Some mediation work experience:
• in an intercultural environment;
• with governmental policy frameworks;
• with interest-based negotiations;
• in multi-party (3 parties or more) mediation.
Mandatory Qualifications
•Ten (10) days (approx. 80 hours) of study and training in mediation; AND
•Ten (10) days (approx. 80 hours) of study and training in alternative dispute resolution; AND
•Completed post-secondary education.
- OR -
•Ten (10) days (approx. 80 hours) of delivery of formal training as an instructor in mediation; AND
•Ten (10) days (approx. 80 hours) of delivery of formal training as an instructor in alternative dispute resolution; AND
•Completed post-secondary education.
-OR
•Ten (10) years or more professional experience in mediation. Only in cases where the Evaluation Committee agrees by majority that the proposed mediator has satisfied or exceeded this requirement through proven skills and competency as well as longevity in practice, as demonstrated within the proposed Mediator resource's CV and the list of relevant projects submitted
