Coquitlam Parks, Recreation and Culture Services is hiring Recreation Leaders to assist in the devel¬opment and implementation of specified social, cultural, sports, parks, and recreational programs and services in the area of licensed preschool, children, youth, and families. The work involves directing programs; promoting interest and encour¬aging participation in program activities; providing guidance and advis¬ing facility users on specified activities; and assisting in directing the work of program leaders, instructors, and volunteers. Candidates are expected to work weeknights and weekends, working 4 to 32 hours per week.
Preferred candidates will have completed a two year post secondary education in Recreation, along with relevant work experience demonstrating a sound knowledge of sports interests, the fundamentals of program leadership, recreation instruction, and customer service. First Aid/CPR Certification, valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle is required. An Early Childhood Certificate would be required for the Licensed Preschool position. Experience working with a variety of ages within parks and/or recreation facilities would be considered an asset.
