As the Mogo Web Developer, you'll be responsible for the development and management of a high performance, efficient and reliable customer-facing financial services web application. Your understanding of business metrics will enhance the service you provide to internal stakeholders and your contribution to Mogo's customer experience will be a key growth driver for the company. You'll report directly to the Marketing Manager and work collaboratively with other teams and developers in other departments. We're an all-hands-on-deck kind of company, so you'll have access to a range of opportunities!
Minimum Requirements
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science or another related field.
• 5+ years in progressively senior web development or programmer roles.
• Minimum 3 years of experience using a variety of open-source platforms.
• Experience with large scale and high performance web applications using PHP, Java, Ajax or other leading edge tools.
• Experience building and using XML-based API's for applications.
• Some SQL and database development experience, preferable in MySQL or similar open-source database.
• Experience working with a variety of web browsers, operating systems and servers including Linux/Apache.
• Experience with building web services.
• Ability to provide programming documentation based on internal standards.
• Experience in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements to support.
• Experience providing technical expertise in areas of web architecture and implementation
• Experience with mobile web development and app development, specifically for iPhones would be preferable.
• Proven experience providing exceptional customer service to internal clients.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to complete work independently while still escalating key issues or information.
• Demonstrated success solving problems and maintaining a high degree of confidentiality in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
• Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills.
