Position: Intermediate Web Designer/Developer

WGI Service Plan Division Inc. is the call centre and administration vehicle for extended warranty programs and other services for a number of WGI companies: W3 Solutions, Whistleblower Inc., and WGI Manufacturing Inc. All customer and administrative support services, including claims handling, etc., is managed by the Corporate Head Office.

Position Description:
PLEASE NOTE THAT EXPOSURE TO ASP.NET AND SQL ARE NECESSARY TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A CANDIDATE
To be fully responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of company web-application sites, ensuring that brand continuity is maintained and intuitive, and that user-friendly sites are built and updated at all times.
Working on the production process of dynamic and static web-sites on a day to day basis. Assignments may include internal page layout, contents formatting, CSS creation, HTML files converted from Photoshop documents, visual studio and vice versa, Candidate will also design custom graphics and launch web-sites under supervision and within an application-development team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To design back-end web sites and ensure that they are visually effective and easy to access and navigate.
2. To implement draft site for internal approval or modification development.
3. Provide accurate and immediate information to all team members assisting in the development of the web-application.
4. To liaise with senior team members on design elements, database requirements and functionality requirements to be able to design consistently with the same.
5. Writing web pages, lay out and elements in a combination of codes such as hypertext mark-up language, JavaScript, CSS, Flash and using Photoshop.
6. TO be familiar with web-app development programming in .net technology with emphasis on using C# and visual studio in a SQL database environment.
SKILLS and ATTRIBUTES:
1. Strong online portfolio displaying user-centered web design.
2. Ability to hand-code with HTML strong knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, JavaScript and Flash.
3. An art, design or media based degree and in-depth knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques.
4. Some experience/ exposure to web-database solutions and web-application development.
5. Flexible attitude to work with a small team of senior web-application development.
6. Excellent communication skills and attention to details.
