We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join the Vancouver based team.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, this position will provide desktop support to end users on a variety of issues by identifying and researching solutions to resolve technical issues/problems. The ideal candidate will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Responsibilities:
• Provide first and second line support for help desk
• IT support to Pender location
• Telecoms and application support as needed
• Respond to telephone calls, emails and personnel requests for technical support
• Tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution
• Other duties as assigned
Skills:
• Ability to be proactive and work on own initiative
• Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a timely manner
• Ability to handle (sometimes) stressful work environment in a professional manner
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures
• Exceptional attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Must possess computer proficiency and manual dexterity
• Ability to work professionally with executive management and other office personnel while practicing utmost confidentiality
Experience:
• 2 -- 3 years as Desktop support in Windows environment 2000 -- 2008
• Experience in a networked computing environment required
Flexibility to work on call, unusual hours or extended shifts providing 24/7 support when necessary is a definite asset.
