full time Technical Sales Support Specialist (Delta, BC)

We are looking for a Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our team in Delta, B.C!

As a member of Inside Sales Department and occupying a critical coordination role with respective to Outside Sales, Engineering, Planning, and Production Departments, the Technical Sales Support Specialist's primary responsibility is to respond effectively to customers' various inquiries, including those of technical nature. The goal is to utilize technical knowledge to provide effective product solutions to customers and maximize the value of sales transactions.

Job Duties:
• Support the Outside Sales Team of assigned territories, and provide Sales and Customer Service functions on all inquiries regarding product lines
• Discuss knowledgeably with inquiring customers (Distributor Agents, direct customers, etc.) to understand their needs for our products and explain the benefits and advantages of our products
• Utilize the knowledge of corrugates, customer's products and industry, and the machines, to explain to customers how our specific products, options, and services are designed to meet their unique operational needs
• Assist customers to select the correct products, based on their needs, product specifications, and applications, and create pricing quotations
• Confirm and negotiate when necessary, pricing and other terms of sales and service agreements
• Inform customers of delivery date, service contracts and warranties, and other order-related information
• Prepare sales orders and submit them for processing within the internal ERP systems environment
• Coordinate information exchange between Sales, Engineering, Planning, Accounting, Production and other departments. For example, provide data to Engineering for customized machines, verify with Planning for delivery date, coordinate with Accounting for invoicing, etc.
• Follow up with customers/distributor agents for corrugate samples and payments/deposits
• Act as the main contact throughout the process, timely respond and inform all stakeholders of order changes
• Assist in coordinating customers' Final Acceptance Test visits
• When customer's order is shipped, perform related tasks to correctly close out the order
• Maintain customer records and related data correctly within internal database systems
• Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by Manager that fall within the position's scope of responsibilities

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Technology would be a considerable asset
• Significant work experience in the supporting or primary selling function of technically (mechanical or electrical) complex products, in Manufacturing, Technology, or Light-Medium Industrial settings
• Knowledge about packaging machinery industry, corrugated industry, manufacturing process, and industrial plant layouts are considered strong assets for this role
• Demonstrated experience and competency in the following areas:
o Active listening to customers' requests, and ask appropriate questions to understand their requirements
o Identify complex problems and review related data, to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions to help customers meet their needs
o Strong customer service orientation - actively looking for ways to meet customers' needs
o Effective influencing skills to persuade customers' buying behaviours and decisions
o Ability to read, enter, interpret and extract data in computerized MRP/ERP environment and MS Office
o Ability to communicate technical and complex information in ways users can understand
o Ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers in a team environment
o Ability to develop positive and trusting client relationships with customers
o Ability to prioritize tasks based on evolving deadlines and urgency, and to work independently as a specialist, to fulfill all job requirements with minimal supervision or guidance

The salary is within the range of $45,000 - $50,000 per year based on experience.
