As a part of ZE PowerGroup's Product Development team, you will be working with an innovative group of professionals who strive at what they do. ZE Power Group is the leading edge software provider of data management and analysis software to the energy industry. Our powerful data management and analysis software, ZEMA (http://zemasuite.com), combines a massive energy market database and an advanced set of web-based applications that allow companies to collect, view, analyze and easily distribute market intelligence throughout the organization. Our suite includes data collection engine, reporting and analysis tools, graphing and charting modules, enterprise dashboards, APIs, web services, and a range of integration interfaces.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
This is a crossover role between a System DBA and an Application DBA and requires sound set of skills and knowledge around operational aspect of relational engines as well as the ability to provide support to application development team.
Some of the core activities would include:
• Installing, updating and managing Oracle RDBMS (Standard & Enterprise)
• Maintaining and monitoring remote installations of enterprise level market databases.
• Creating and conducting back-up and recovery procedures.
• Optimizing and fine tuning database performance.
• Performing routine archiving and security related tasks.
• Enhancing existing database design and architecture.
• Enhancing our reporting and analysis capabilities.
• Creating and enhancing Oracle packages
• Developing advanced SQL statements.
• Supporting our team of developers with database expertise
Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server is a plus and can be utilized in following scenarios:
• Installing, updating and managing MS SQL Server RDBMS.
• Performing schema, objects and data migrations from Oracle to SQL Server
