We are currently seeking a very enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our IT Department. The Front End Developer will have experience working in an agile, cross functional team environment that supports java e-commerce and servicing applications. The Developer must be familiar with the realities of client-side web development technologies such as cross-browser JavaScript, advanced CSS and HTML techniques. The position requires that the Developer be able to build static/dynamic web content and functionality with X/HTML, Velocity, CSS, AJAX and JavaScript for electronic marketing material as well as maintain production systems. We develop template driven websites using Velocity; therefore knowledge and experience with Velocity is mandatory.
Breakdown of work includes:
75% Web Development - Extensive CSS, JavaScript, Velocity, etc.
25% Java/J2EE Web-Tier Development (but not core Java development)
Technical Requirements:
• Must have a minimum of one year experience developing in Velocity
• Strong understanding of extensive CSS and Usability Interface (HTML/XHTML)
• Experience with cross-platform, cross-browser development
• Strong development capability with client-side, object oriented, JavaScript and a passion for UI
• Experience with AJAX, DOM, DHTML, jQuery, Dojo, and JSON
• Experience and familiarity with version control (CVS, Subversion), XML, web/application servers
• Basic understanding of Java programming frameworks (Spring, J2EE, N-tier Applications) are required in the candidate
Following are considered assets:
• E-Commerce experience
• Knowledge and experience with Elasticpath framework
• Experience with Java web application development environments
• Experience building high availability and scalable software for enterprise level products
• An artistic eye; an understanding or concept of aesthetically pleasing web site design
• Ability to read and write Japanese
