We are currently recruiting for a:
Software Developer
Location: Environmental Division, Burnaby, BC
Reports to: Canadian Environmental LIMS Development Manager
General Accountability:
This position is responsible for the development of software for our proprietary Laboratory Information Management System and associated systems in the ALS Environmental Division.
Specific Responsibilities:
? Develop and Design of LIMS system using Microsoft .NET tools.
? Development of associated stored procedures using Oracle PL/SQL.
? Develop reports using Crystal Reports for .NET.
? Participate in the design, development, documentation and testing activities within the LIMS development environment.
? Maintain and enhance existing in-house applications.
? Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
? 3+ years of experience programming and development of web applications using ASP.NET, C#.NET
? 2+ years of experience working with design patterns, preferably MVC.
? 1+ years of experience working with WCF services.
? Experience Programming in an Oracle database environment using PL/SQL.
? Experience working in an agile environment an asset.
? HTML and XML experience an asset.
? Experience with Telerik controls an asset.
? Experience working with Team Foundation Server an asset.
? An ability to work on multiple projects in a multi-tasking, high pressure environment.
? Superior communication and technical writing skills.
? Good interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment.
Required Qualifications:
? The successful applicant will have at least 3 years of experience working with ASP.NET and C#.NET;
? Bachelor's Degree or Technical School Diploma and 3 -- 5 years of related professional exp;
? Experience working with laboratory information management systems an asset.
Physical Demands:
? Ability to sit up to 8 hours a day;
? Manual dexterity to do repetitive tasks such as data entry.
