Magazine Editor for New International Magazine

51 Cities is a soon to be launched international fashion and lifestyle magazine in partnership with Vancouver Fashion Week. Cities contributing include: Copenhagen, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Tokyo, New York, Calgary, San Francisco, Beijing, Hong Kong, Milan, Oslo, Seattle, London, Paris, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Toronto, Montreal, Mexico City and Seoul. Our launch date will be in September, and we're looking for a few outstanding editors to work with us.
Responsibilities:
- Working in a team environment to ensure the quality of submitted articles
- Must be prepared to develop a long term editorial vision for the magazine
- Successfully utilize social media as an additional entry point for content
- Ensure that content is accurate and consistent across the publication
- Attending and engaging in writers meetings
- Meeting tight deadlines and possible priority changes
- Assisting with writer inquiries
Qualifications
- Detail-oriented
- Familiar with working with internet content
- Familiarity with social media (Facebook, Twitter)
- Strong in Microsoft Word and its 'review' functions (i.e. tracking changes, comments, and etc.)
- Excellent English proficiency
- 1-2 years of editing experience
