Leading North American industrial manufacturer requires a qualified Technical Writer with experience in manufacturing and heavy industrial settings.
As member of Engineering Group, Technical Writer’s main responsibility is to create technical manuals for company’s product lines and related materials, to achieve company objectives.
Essential functions:
-create new or revise/edit existing technical manuals or documents
-study graphics, specifications and product samples to obtain required data for appropriate use
-organize materials and produce writings in accordance with established standards (format, style, terminology)
-manage those activities relating to effective planning, storage and use of data
-produce photographs and videos as part of creating technical manuals
-arrange for printing, duplication and distribution of manuals
Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree and work experience in Technical Writing (min. 3-5 yrs)
-print-based Technical Writing work experience in MANUFACTURING, TECHNOLOGY or HEAVY INDUSTRIAL settings
-demonstrated ability to write high quality Technical Manuals
-fully competent in MS Word and Excel, Framemaker, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD
-able to establish effective working relationships with others and grow effectively in team-work environments
-able to prioritize tasks based on deadlines and urgency and ability to work independantly with minimal direction
Strong Assets:
-ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
-MRP/ERP systems knowledge
-videography (MovieMaker, Premier Pro, Video Edit Magic)
-FTP/3rd Party File Sharing
