Desktop Support needed for Animation Studio (Downtown Vancouver)

DHX Media Vancouver, formerly Studio B Productions, is an award-winning animation studio which has produced over 300 half hours of original children's shows. We are also proud to employ a team of more than 200 of Canada's top artists, writers and producers.
To help us with our recent growth, we are looking for someone to join our team in the position of Desktop Support. In this role you will work under the direction of the IT Manager.
In such a fast-paced environment with large volume of production work on the go, the ideal candidate must be an organized team player who is capable of keeping track of all tasks and has a good sense of humor.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Installing, maintaining and upgrading PC workstations, peripherals and application software
• Performing maintenance of accounts on the network, including mail accounts, file/print security and user log-in accounts
• Providing assistance in the administration of local area network operations
• Making a conscious effort to keep up-to-date on new and emerging technologies
• Coming in contact with confidential information and protecting the privacy of such information
• Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager
Qualifications include:
• Comprehensive knowledge of PC hardware, as well as various Windows and Mac operating systems and applications
• Demonstrated basic understanding of LAN technologies
• Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in supporting Dell and HP desktops
• Superior knowledge in both WinXP and Win7 operating systems as well as the Office Suite
• Familiarity with Windows Active Directory
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
