IT Network Coordinator - Contract

Position Profile:
This is a contract position, to be re-evaluated at the end of the contract term.
The IT Network Coordinator will be responsible for setting up a new network within our head office environment. This new network will consist of a number of servers, running in a virtualized environment. Each server will be running on a Windows Server 2008 platform. The servers will include: an application server, a web server, a SQL server, a Microsoft Dynamics NAV server, a sharepoint server, exchange 2010 server, Microsoft CRM server.
The IT New Coordinator will report to the President, and will be required to contribute to the department with their knowledge and forward thinking as the IT department focuses on moving the company’s technology platform forward. Your input will be valued.
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor degree/diploma in Computer Science
• Microsoft Certified
Experience Requirements:
• 2 – 3 years experience
Skill Requirements:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Active Directory Design, Maintenance, and Functionality
• Knowledge of Windows networking: DNS, WINS, DHCP, and IIS
• Knowledge of PC software and hardware – installation, troubleshooting, recommendation/selection, purchasing, etc
• Knowledge of Windows security implementation and maintenance
• Knowledge of MS Exchange Server 2010, Firewall (ISA Server and Fortinet), Antivirus
• Knowledge of MS Sharepoint
• Knowledge of Centralized system backup/restore (Veritas Backup)
• Understanding of System and Network Security Audits, Planning, Design, Implementation, and Intrusion Test
• Knowledge of Remote Desktop Connection (RDC)
• Knowledge of PC system performance and efficiency tuning
• Web development experience using ASP, XML, HTML, and Javascript
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access and MS-SQL 2000 / 2008 Server database development including stored procedures
• Ability to function in an organized yet unstructured environment. Must work well independently, as well as part of a team
• Ability to multitask and effectively deal with issues
• Ability to quickly learn new products
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain all IT services and systems
• Develop, review and test database, programs, reports, and Web Pages written in Visual Basic, VBA, ASP, Java Script, HTML, ACCESS, SQL
• Develop reports in Navision (C/SIDE) and Crystal Reports
• Develop and maintain the internal corporate network
• Evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices
• Other duties as assigned by the President
