Surrey Branch Mgr

Express Employment Professionals - Delta/Richmond is recruiting for our client, a distributor of building materials, the position of branch manager for their Surrey branch.
As a Branch Manager you will be responsible for managing all day to day aspects of the business, leading and developing the team and ensuring the branch meets company expectations.
To be considered for this position, you must have at least 3 years with a demonstrated track record of branch management experience, knowledge of building products and experience serving building contractors. In additional to servicing external customers at this branch, you will also service the other branches as this is the central distribution centre. You will possess strong experience managing all aspects of day to day business, however leadership and the ability to further develop the team are essential qualities for this role. The successful applicant must have the ambition and determination to ensure the branch expands beyond our client's expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
" Branch management operations
" Accurate and timely order fulfillment to both external and internal customers
" Logistical leadership to the branch and other branches for intra company shipments
" Interface with sales and branch staffs to ensure seamless service from point of sale to delivery
" Manage the receipt and expedite dispatch of product to building contractors
" Accurate inventory management for the branch and DC
" Regular physical inventory counts as required to ensure effective inventory control
" Understand and improve order processing system to improve service and cost efficiencies
" Submit and review reports to ensure proactive business solutions
" Hiring, training, coaching and motivating staff
" Performance appraisal and management
" Staff scheduling and payroll submission
" Review and establish procedures and process to run operations effectively
" Set expectations, hold staff accountable, inspect & monitor established processes
" High level of positive relationship with customers and staff
" Maintain and continuously improve yard & warehouse cleanliness and organization
" Promote a collaborative work environment
" Fixed asset maintenance including the facility, trucks, forklifts
" Scheduling repairs, maintenance, appearance, PM programs/annual inspections
" Ensure WorksafeBC compliance and improve safety environment with branch participation
" Counter sales as needed
" Work in yard/warehouse when needed
Requirements
" Minimum 3 years branch, warehouse, logistics & distribution operations experience
" Demonstrated track record of at least 3 years in managing people
" Must have worked in the building materials industry
" Must have experience and understanding to service building contractors
" Strong customer service and relationship orientation
" Some inside counter sales experience
" Understands products, yard layout and inventory storage requirements
" Team oriented, ability to motivate and create a strong team that is customer focused
" Computer skills - email, spreadsheets, inventory management
" Establish and maintain SOP's
" Leadership to work WITH team to " do what it takes to get the job done"
" Flexible and adaptable and able to react as business demands change
